Advice on policy, working with parents, equality, lesson content and pedagogy, concerning RSHE

Jo’s expertise and experience of negotiating and understanding the nuanced and complex nature of the intersection between RSHE (especially sex education) and faith helps advice given to schools to be:

an insightful investigation of policies and practices enabling a school to offer faith and student-sensitive RSHE to their children and young people.

supportive of a developing understanding concerning differing cultural and religious backgrounds, and value systems enabling teachers to offer lesson content and pedagogies that take account of the particular needs of each individual student when teaching relationships and sex education.

of assistance to teachers as they seek to understand the need for students to be valued for who they are and what they believe about themselves and the world.

empowering to schools as they seek to offer robust and effective consultation with parents, pupils and their local communities concerning RSHE.

equality based putting the needs of all pupils, including but not limited to those who have protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, at the heart of RSHE.
